Benchill

Benchill is about nine miles south of the city centre, east of the M56 motorway and south of Hollyhedge Road. There's good access to the airport; and the M56 leads straight to Princess Parkway, a major route into the city centre.

Living in Benchill

Most Benchill homes are very close to the Wythenshawe civic shopping centre, with its food hall and market. The centre also includes the Wythenshawe Forum; the place to come for leisure, learning and childcare. There's a swimming pool, gym, sports hall and fitness centre, health centre, children's nursery and job centre.

Homes in the north of the area close to local shops on Hollyhedge Road.

There are regular buses to the city centre, and plans to extend the Metrolink tram system through the area to the airport. There's a range of job opportunities at the airport, with 250 companies based there. The airport is keen to employ more local people as it grows.
