Northern Moor is about seven miles south of the city centre, on the west side of Princess Parkway. There's good access to Manchester Airport and the motorway network to other areas of south Manchester and Cheshire.

There are small shopping parades at Sale Circle, Button Lane and Moorcroft Road, and a much wider range of shops (including two supermarkets) and amenities in Northenden centre - walking distance from the eastern side of Northern Moor. The west side of the area is not far from the large Tesco supermarket on Altrincham Road.
The eastern side also benefits from good transport links to the city centre, Sale, Altrincham and the airport along Princess Parkway or Palatine Road.
The proposed extension to the Metrolink system would bring easy access to the city centre and the airport, with frequent, fast trams from a local station.
